Development must be the issue of upcoming election. But there is another matter attached to development & it is education. Education is the base of development. To become developed nation, we need technology. To bring forth new technology, we need innovative ideas. Lastly, we need better education system to encourage our students to think innovative. We have had enough talks & debates on economic reforms! Now we must discuss educational reforms.
As aforementioned, education is the base of development. We have IITs & IIMs, but we know the importance of these institute on international level. I often think, why we are still following colonial education system? How can we evaluate others, when we are not complete. Everyone is incomplete. As long as you are incomplete, you have no right to assess others. This is what I think. The reality is more than 70% teachers in our country today, are not teaching because it is their passion, but they have failed to get any other job! That's the naked truth. Everyone knows it, but everyone likes to hear it from others. They are more concerned about earning money than teaching students. This issue needs to be addressed.
Second issue is high fees. I am pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, & My parents pay 80,000 Rs. every year to the University. In ancient times, fees used to be zero. That's not idealistic. It is a reality. I have a possible solution of this problem. I think we should divide students on the economic basis, not on the basis of cast & religion. The students, whose parents are quite well-off should pay highest fees. Then second stage should include middle class, they should pay as per their economic condition. Then comes final stage, which covers poor people & they should not pay anything as institute can meet its financial requirements using fees paid by rich & middle class. It's not pro-communist idea. Rich people are rich because of their hard work, but they ought to do something for betterment of society.
Third issue may be quality of education. What we are being taught today is almost 30-40 years old. Our minds remain enclosed by four walls. We may solve all the analytical & critical problems, but we need to be more creative. Marks, grades & certificates are not the only indicators of a person's intelligence. No exam has been found so far, which can judge a student 100%. It is impossible. Even Interview, which allows interviewer to have direct chat with interviewee, is not capable of assessing a person 100%. We should update textbooks. There are thousands of mistakes, every year being brought in limelight by experts. It may be only minor mistakes for book writer, but the students who mug such texts will surely carry it in memory for entire life. At least until he finds real information.
There may be more issues to be taken into account, but it will make this post boring & long. These three issues are major & if not addressed in near future, may ruin our dream to become a super power. Narendra Modi, I want you to speak on these issues. Rahul Gandhi, I want to hear the solutions of these issues from you. Do not fight on nonsense issues such as 'Dehati Aurat'. Thank you.
